Discover Our Country
As a holiday destination Northern Ireland is small, around 14,000 sq. kms. yet it has an amazing variety of landscape, history and culture.
Northern Ireland comprises the six counties of Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry and Tyrone. Each county has unique scenery, charm and entertainment.
The country is renowned for the warmth of the local people. This warmth is equalled by their industry and innovation. Belfast is where the Titanic and the world's first vertical take-off plane were built. Harry Ferguson, born in County Down, perfected the tractor and linkage system which has transformed the agricultural industry.
We have some of the best scenery in Ireland and because the region is compact it is possible to travel anywhere in the country in one day. There is something to see and to do whatever your age or ability.

The Antrim Coast road (see above) is one of the most spectacular marine routes in Europe. Northern Ireland's most popular visitor attraction the Giant's Causeway is accessed from this road.
The Causeway comprises 40,000 basalt columns and is a World Heritage site.
For those interested in hill walking the Sperrin Mountains offer fine terrain for walking or rambling.
The Sperrin area is steeped in cultural heritage and tradition. The Mourne Mountains in County Down have twelve peaks over 2,000 ft. This area is renowned for the stone-built field boundary walls.
